About RISE

RISE (Residents Invested in Sustainable Environments) is a citywide watchdog and organizing platform for communities facing unchecked, developer-led growth in the name of “affordable housing.”

We believe in housing. We believe in equity. But we also believe in accountability. And too often, Atlanta neighborhoods are being sidelined while outside interests push dense, high-impact projects that ignore local concerns, bypass public scrutiny, and benefit politically connected players.

RISE exists to:

•Expose broken planning processes that prioritize speed and headlines over safety and sustainability

•Call out political leaders and agencies who rubber-stamp proposals with no real oversight

•Push back against the misuse of public subsidies and land deals that favor developers over communities

•Give residents tools, data, and organizing power to fight back against projects that don’t serve them

This isn’t about “not in my backyard/NIMBY.” It’s about asking: Who benefits? Who decides? And who’s left to deal with the consequences?
